Navuntio can be added to your home screen like an app – no app store, free of charge, with saved tours working offline too.
What is the Navuntio app?
Navuntio is a web app: it runs in your browser, but you can add it to the home screen of your device like an app. There is nothing to download from an app store, and the address stays www.navuntio.com. Once added, Navuntio starts with its own icon and without the browser bar – full screen, with the Entdecker-Karte, tours and knowledge.
Android (Chrome)
Open www.navuntio.com in Chrome. 1. Tap the menu at the top right (three dots). 2. Choose “Add to Home screen” or “Install app”. 3. Confirm with “Install”. Chrome often offers the installation by itself. The “Install app” button in the Navuntio bar opens the same dialog. In other Android browsers the path is usually Menu → “Add to Home screen”.
iPhone and iPad (Safari)
Open www.navuntio.com in Safari. 1. Tap “Share” – the square with the arrow pointing up. 2. Scroll down the list and choose “Add to Home Screen”. 3. Confirm with “Add”. The “Install app” button in the Navuntio bar shows you these steps again. Other browsers on the iPhone often lack this option – use Safari for it.
Computer (Chrome, Edge)
Open www.navuntio.com. A small install icon (a screen with an arrow) appears on the right of the address bar. Click it and confirm. Alternatively via the menu: “Install Navuntio” (Chrome) or “Apps” → “Install this site as an app” (Edge). Navuntio then opens in its own window.
What works offline
The Entdecker-Karte can save whole tours on your device: tour page, navigation mode with turn-by-turn hints, audio stops and the map tiles along the route. On the tour page tap “Save offline”; all saved packages are listed in the map menu under “Saved offline”. The start page and recently visited knowledge pages also stay available without a connection. Everything else – such as search, weather or loading new places – needs an internet connection.
The start screen
When you open the installed app, the start screen appears briefly: the Navuntio logo, and below it the word mark assembles from fine points of light. It also shows how far the app has loaded and disappears as soon as everything is ready. You will not see it in a normal browser. If your device is set to “Reduce motion”, a calm version without animation appears.
Removing the app again
Android: press and hold the icon → “Uninstall” or “Remove”. iPhone and iPad: press and hold the icon → “Remove app” → “Remove from Home Screen”. Computer: open the menu in the app window → “Uninstall Navuntio”. Nothing changes on Navuntio itself; saved tours may be deleted from the device and can be saved again at any time.
